Today I was thinking about the evolution of my eating habits, and man oh man did I used to eat some garbage during my teenage and early adult years. When I gained weight I did what I thought was trying everything, but I wasn't because I continued to eat the same. Watching diet commericals I thought that I could lose weight by eating the same foods, not exercising, and popping a pill. That is what many of them portray at least. Hmmm...Now I won't say that the diets and pills didn't work at all because they did. They also lead me to become a professional yo-yo dieter. As I got older and start exercising regualarly I learned about making choices. I became more strict with what I ate when I start having children because I know that what I ate during pregnancy could determine their health for a lifetime. Fastforward to starting Weight Watchers new points plus program on Jan 22nd this year, and that is when I learned how to combine my food practice and knowledge together. Since starting the new plan I have been more successful than ever on the road to weight-loss, by doing it the right way that will have long term effects. Diet pills, shots, and fad diets do not work long term. When living a healthier lifestyle you don't have to give up the foods you enjoy because you will just splurge later. It is about making healthier choices, and learning about portion control. The best thing you could do is to eat healthy, but not to much. Your body determines what too much is so take your time eating as well because it takes 15-20 minutes for your stomach to communicate that it's full to your brain. Regular exercise is also very important so don't forget to move your body.

I am such a loser!
Sometimes being a LOSER is a great thing, and I am proud to call myself one. Especially, after last weeks weigh-in! I weighed in on Saturday morning and lost 2lbs which puts me at 12.6 lbs total, and shows my dedication to meeting my future forever body. I can't stress how much I love the Weight Watchers new points plus plan. I feel satisfied throughout the day and don't have to hide from the cake, donuts, or any other foods while on it. I can have any thing I want because I work it into my daily points and if I run out of those I pull points from my additional weekly or activity points which makes this plan soooo easy to follow. If I do an average of 2 lbs per week I will have an AWESOME Christmas gift from myself this year. I can't wait to meet my new body!!!!

I didn't lose, but I have not failed!
This morning I weighed in, and there was no lost, and I actually had a .6 gain. I wasn't upset or disappointed with myself by no means because I know that I followed plan by staying within my allotted points and added more exercise as well. The assignment that I gave myself this week was to review last weeks tracker and see what can be changed. Yes, I stayed within my pp values, but I can problem do without the cookie from downstairs and cut back on the grapes. I know your thinking that grapes are healthy and 0 points, but whenever I eat them my body feels as if it is going into a sugar overload. This week I will incorporate two meatless days, and eat more living foods. I purchased the WW Dark chocolate turtles that are only 2 pp value to have on hand in case I want a treat. They are awesome when paired with a banana. I have also decided that all breakfast at work will be prepared by me so I know everything that's in it. The key is to be prepared so I will chop chop and chop to keep things healthy and fresh. I didn't lose this week, but I have not failed!!!

Sweat it out!
Last night I tried something different at the gym. I did cardio only and included the new move that the PT had shown me on Monday night. After an hour alternating the treadmill and elliptical machine I was beat, but I remember another tip for weight-loss that was shared with me on the day that I signed up....The dry sauna! I had to try it for twenty minutes to be exact, and I was soak and wet when I left out that 180 degree temp room. I drank approx. 24ozs of water while in the sauna to replenish some of the fluids that I was losing. Mi Gente, I felt AWESOME after using the sauna, and after speaking with some of the ladies in there about their weight-loss after including the sauna into their routines I will also be a regular. LOL!

Let's get it started...More Exercise that is!
Wow!!!! Is the best way to describe my meeting today with the personal trainers. I worked out and I think some other muscles have been discovered that I was obviously unaware of. My Cardiologist told me that the trainer may not be able to get my heart rate up to were he wants it, but I was able to get it up to 148 while on the elliptical. Yay Me!!!! He also suggested that I do 3 days of cardio and strength training and on the 4th day just do 60 of cardio switching up the machines. Following those instructions I should get to were I want to be in no time, am I am excited!!!

Lessoned Learned...
Last week was not perfect as it could have been. I went one day without tracking my points...Why did I do that! Well, lets just say that it was a lessoned learned that will not be repeated. I did lose weight, but not the two pounds that I was hoping for. One big change that I did make was joining a gym, and I am highly motivated to go at least 3-4 times a week. I think that this will be a great additional to Weight Watchers, and on the days that I don't go to the gym I have Zumba for the Kinect. I mentioned before that my goal is to get down to 120lbs, and the weight won't leave without the discipline. If you are doing WW then make sure that you track every B.L.T (bite, lick, and taste)...
