Raw-Gust.....Day 8 and Zumba for a Cure

OMG!!!!! I couldn't wait for Raw-Gust 25th to arrive because I was so excited about attending Zumba for a Cure which was 2 hours of adrenaline pumping Zumba hosted by T.J. Maxx, and lead by two awesome instructors that donated their time, Maria and Andrew. If you remember I went RAW this time around so I could have pure energy to do the 2 hours. Well, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED because I completed the 2 hours and felt like I could have done another hour. At least that is what my mind was thinking. LOL!  This morning leading up to the event I didn't have much of an appetite, and even afterwards I still didn't have much of an appetite. Before picking up the kids I even stopped at the store to buy food, but apparently my eyes were bigger than my stomach. Odd right? I know...I know that a couple of days ago I decided to stay RAW at least until the end of September, but I may extend that because  Zumbathon for Diabetes is on October 20th. I am so excited!!! I could really go on and on about my day, but here are a couple of pictures from the event followed by my meals. Warning it's really not much...

Raw-Gust 22nd......"Life is Good"

It's Aug 22nd and all I can say is "Life is good"....I feel so light, my mind is clear, and nothing can tarnish my mood. Not to mention that since Saturday August 18th I have lost an astonishing 6.4 lbs. Typically when I do raw I go with a variety of several different foods, but for now I have really been craving large salads, fresh juices, and smoothies which is good because that's a way to keep the budget down for those that think the lifestyle is expensive. Let me say for the record that eating RAW does not HAVE to be expensive if you shop at the right places like local produce markets and farmers markets. I can take $10 and leave with a good amount of produce to be juiced or eaten. Oh, and my already good blood pressure is even better on RAW, and that is something that medication NEVER accomplished when I was taking 3 medications that should have controlled it. Oh, and that is something that money can never buy. Food is medicine and if more people learned & lived this they would be less dependent on medications, and not risk destroying other organs while suppressing symptoms. Well I could go on all night, but I won't because I need to go back to bed. Yes, I woke up because I am doing late night/early morning laundry. LOL!!! So here we go with the food consumption for the past two days, and if it looks very simple to you than that is my aim as a working women......

Raw-Gust Day 2.....Not prepared

This morning started out well, but I didn't expect to be away from home so long. After church we spent hours searching for my son school supplies. Do you know how hard it is to find a primary journal? LOL!!!!!! Before leaving the house I drank a yummy 32oz smoothie. For lunch I had a few bananas , but that wasn't enough because I was seriously urging for melon. LOL!! We didn't make it home until around 1700, but understand that I made a huge salad when we made it there. Huge salad that is!!!!!! I haven't been hit with the detox phase yet, but I know it's coming soon and I am ready for it. Not sure what to expect for detox this time, but I know once it's over my energy levels will be off the charts and I may need to be release from a ceiling. Anyway like yesterday here are the things that I consumed on my second day of Raw in Rawgust.

Raw-Gust Day 1

Many people that follow me know that occasionally I go raw for a certain amount of days. This time I decided to finish the month of August Raw. Good thing because between my monthly visitor and enjoying high sodium and junk food my weight increased by a few pounds this week. My reason for going Raw....Well, I need to prepare for a 2 hour Zumba Master class that's on the 25th, and my body was also asking for more Raw foods as well and I like to listen.  Going Raw is not something that you can do overnight because you have to do some planning and mentally prepare yourself. For me I like to give myself a week or two for mental planning so once I start there is nothing that can get me off track. There are so many misconceptions about going raw and one is that people think that you have to eat certain products for energy to get through the day, and I can say that I have plenty of energy to get through my day. I even went to Zumba class Saturday morning, and it was great!!! So what did I consume today? Well, lets see......

Breakfast

Raw Juice: Granny smith apple, romaine lettuce, cucumber, celery, and 2 whole limes

Lunch

Whole Cantaloupe

Dinner

Huge Salad: Romaine lettuce, spinach, onions, whole avocado, whole mango, hemp seeds, raisins, and juice of 2 squeezed limes
****I think I had about 6 cups of lettuce&spinach mixture****

Snacks (not consume together)

Raw Juice: 4 Carrots, and 1 apple

1 stick of raw honey (I consume 2 minutes before Zumba class)

3 bananas

Sugar Baby Watermelon (unknown amount)
